Jamie Todd M.A. SLP-CCC

Certified Speech-Language Pathologist

My Story

All About Jamie

Jamie developed a love of learning languages starting with French in middle school and then later, Spanish, American Sign Language, German, and Hebrew. While working on her bachelor's in Linguistics at Brigham Young University, she realized that language development was her greatest passion. She received her master's in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Utah.

After graduation, Jamie worked as an SLP in the school district for 10 years specializing in preschool-aged children. While working in the school district, she worked with a variety of speech and language disorders.

As Jamie studied therapies for Apraxia and severe articulation disorders, she realized that working as a private therapist she would be able to better help children with these types of disorders in a much more focused capacity. She received training from the PROMPT Institute to increase her ability to treat articulation disorders.

Current Projects

Currently, Jamie, with the help of Jeff Horton, is using a combination of speech therapy and neurofeedback therapy to treat children with severe articulation disorders including Apraxia. Progress with typical speech therapy can be slower with children who have Apraxia so parents often turn to them to increase the rate of progress.

Jeff Horton, CMHC, began his career in neurofeedback therapy in 2007 when he was introduced by a family friend who, after a severe auto accident, struggled with anger, speech issues, and opiate addiction. The difference neurofeedback made in his symptoms and quality of life was nothing short of a miracle. Jeff continues to be amazed by the power of neurofeedback in assisting the brain's own healing ability.

Jeff and Jamie are also using neurofeedback to observe the effects of essential oils on the brain including how oils can promote confident speech, how oils can decrease stress and anxiety, and how essential oils can boost overall mood and energy.
